Ferry Boat House

The Ferry Boat Inn/house was built in the 1700's. It ran as a pub until the 1990's, where it then begin a local authority children's home.

We bought in in 2020. It has been really interesting finding out the history of the Ferry Boat. I will share what I know with you, but if you have any stories, we would love to hear them.

Previous Names: The Ferry, Ferry Boat Inn

The landlady in the 1700's was called Catherine and she was a smuggler. The story goes that one night she offered a gentleman contraband not knowing he was a customs officer.
