Forest Arts

Coming 2025

We are renovating a piece of land to form a

  • Forest studio area, to hold art workshops for adults, children and 1:1s

  • Children's forest play area, to include mud kitchens and sensory play, nets, hammocks etc.

  • A hide overlooking the estuary (River Neath).  We regularly see Oyster Catchers, Cormorants, curlews, egrets and currently we have 3 visiting herons.

  • Fire pit with seating, to make tea and toast or marshmallows.

This will be a creative space for other community groups to use, alongside running our workshops.

Currently I am studying to be a certified outdoor therapeutic practitioner.   I will finish this training by February.  I will be using this time to put together teaching plans, looking for financial funding, as well as renovating the landscape.  Currently it is very overgrown!

The Ferry Boat Inn was at the heart of the community back in the 1700 - 1995.  Although it is now our home, I still have the same working goals, in which I want Ferry Boat Arts to be at the heart of the community.  Spending time within an outdoor environment is therapeutic and restorative in itself,  coupled with the therapeutic value of creativity, participants will be able to focus on their wellbeing holistically.

If you have any thoughts or you feel we could help in any way, or if you could offer any assistance with our plans, we would love to hear from you.

You can follow our progress with the renovations of the site on the link above, or follow us on Facebook and Instagram on the links below.
